International Women’s Day is a chance to pause and recognise the women who shape BerryWorld every day. Across our farms, packhouses, commercial teams and offices around the world, we see the difference that talent, care and determination make in bringing our berries to life.

We are proud of the progress we have made and we know there is more to do. Inclusion is not a one off initiative. It is built through everyday actions: listening well, learning openly, and creating an environment where everyone can do their best work.

At BerryWorld, our purpose is rooted in people and in the belief that doing the right thing matters. Behind every pack is a real person and every person deserves the opportunity to thrive.

That is why we believe ethical, inclusive business is better business. It guides the choices we make year round, the opportunities we create, and the standards we hold ourselves to.

Global Women Fresh

Over the last couple of years, BerryWorld has been an avid sponsor of Global Women Fresh, an organisation established in 2020 to help close the gender divide in fresh produce. With a network of around 2,000 members, Global Women Fresh brings together women across the supply chain and supports learning, development and connection across our industry.

Through this partnership, a number of women at BerryWorld have had the opportunity to take part in coaching sessions and webinars, designed to build knowledge, confidence and career pathways.

Charlotte Knowles, Group Marketing & Comms Director, explains:

“Supporting women in fresh produce means creating an environment where talent can thrive regardless of gender, from the field to the board room. In a global industry, where much of the farm-level workforce is female, there can be cultural and structural barriers for women to progress. Addressing these challenges requires internal commitment from key players and industry-wide effort from organisations like Global Women Fresh, to raise awareness and generate support.”

Give to Gain

This International Women’s Day, we are joining the theme of “Give to Gain”: the idea that when we invest in people, opportunity grows for everyone.

That can look like coaching and mentoring. It can look like fair access to development, sponsorship and stretch opportunities. It can also be the everyday moments that matter: being heard, receiving constructive feedback, or having the flexibility and support to balance life and work.

When we back our people, we strengthen our teams, our powerful partnerships, and the wider sector we are proud to be part of.

Happy International Women’s Day to everyone across our BerryWorld community.
