Enjoy the natural taste of summer all year around with this delicious strawberry compote. Its the perfect partner to ice cream and makes a stunning ice cream sundae or can be spooned over crushed meringues and whipped cream for a super-easy dessert.

  • Arrange sliced strawberries in a rigid container, sprinkling with 1 heaped tbsp caster sugar between each layer. Cover, label and freeze for up to six months.
  • Thaw at room temperature for 1-2 hours or defrost in the microwave.
  • Serve spooned over scoops of vanilla ice cream and roughly broken flaked chocolate in tall glasses. Serve with wafer biscuits.
