Working with the Albert Hein Foundation to invest in people
Working closely with our network of berry growers across South Africa and Zimbabwe, we're acutely aware of local challenges and opportunities across their farms. As a team we do our utmost to support our growers on a technical and commercial level. Beyond this we also work with retailers across the globe to help give back locally, so we're immensely grateful for the Albert Hein Foundation for helping fund the development of a creche and jungle gym on a local farm.
The Le Arc farm strongly believe that their people are their top priority, so naturally they have always been passionate about child development and growth.
Having established a creche on the farm on the 1st of April 2021, they wanted to enhance the children’s learning experience further. Working with the Albert Hein Foundation, they invested in building a play area which included a jungle gym, located in the perfect spot on the farm to be accessible to the children on weekdays and other children on the farm who do not attend the creche, over the weekend.
Even during Covid-19 setbacks, all the hard work that went into this project was worth it. "We are happy to finally offer our children a safe and fun space to engage in outside the classroom. The area used to be an open space with grass but now it is a space for smiles and laughter of our little people, and we know we have created a fun heaven for them on the farm."
BerryWorld, Le Arc farm, and the families on the farm would like to thank the Albert Hein Foundation for their continued support.
